Here are some of the services I offer as an educator:
Piano Tuition
Whether you're taking your first steps at the piano or working towards an examination, lessons are tailored to your individual goals and interests. Students are encouraged to develop confidence, musical understanding and a genuine enjoyment of playing, with lessons adapted to suit different ages, abilities and learning styles.
Guitar Tuition
Learn acoustic or electric guitar in a relaxed and supportive environment. Lessons can focus on playing for enjoyment, developing technique, learning favourite songs, or preparing for graded examinations. Each lesson is designed to help students progress at their own pace while building confidence and musical skills.
Music Compositon
For students interested in writing their own music, composition lessons provide guidance in developing ideas, exploring different styles and strengthening creative and technical skills. Support is available for GCSE and A-Level coursework, university applications, portfolio development, or simply for anyone who wants to learn more about creating original music. Lessons are tailored to each student's interests and encourage creativity, curiosity and confidence.
Why Me?
I am an experienced music educator and professional musician with a passion for helping students develop their confidence, creativity and enjoyment of music. Alongside teaching in schools and privately, I have taught undergraduate students at Cardiff University and hold a PhD in Music Composition, a Master's degree with Distinction from the University of Bristol, and Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
